LHI bid for double yellow lines in Foxton - Please fill in this online questionnaire by Friday 24th January 2025 and help us make Foxton roads safer!
Foxton Parish Council is submitting a bid for the 2025-26 Cambridgeshire County Council Local Highways Initiative (LHI) to have double yellow lines at the junction of High Street and Station Road and at the junction of High Street and Caxton Lane.
If the bid succeeds, then CCC Highways would pay for the bulk of the cost of the work along with a small contribution from the Parish Council.
We already have views on the Caxton Lane site from 2023, but we need your feedback on the High Street/Station Road yellow lines, as this is a major deciding factor in the success or failure of the application.
The other site for a double yellow lines LHI bid, would go from the Dovecot field entrance/ Burlington press entrance to the entrance of No 32 at the High Street/Station Road junction. Parking at this junction has been a problem for a long time, with the issues of safe access for buses, emergency vehicles, pedestrians, wheelchairs and buggies.
Now that there is Civil Parking Enforcement, officers can be asked to patrol double yellow lines and tickets/fines can be issued, making this a worthwhile safety measure.
The CCC road engineers will determine the exact locations of the lines.
