Foxton Parish Council Application for the 2023/24 LHI 20mph speed limit in Foxton and current LHI installations

The application for this Local Highways Initiative (LHI) 20mph speed limit has now been sent to CCC Highways so please do not send in any further responses. Thank you to all who submitted responses and comments. We had 214 responses, both hard copy and online, with 192 of those supporting a bid for the speed limit reduction. We should hear if this bid has been successful by the end of July 2023. Foxton will be up against a lot of competition from many South Cambs villages, but we have to try! If we are successful, this work will not cost Foxton tax payers anything as the CCC Highways Department will fund it all.
The current Local Highway Initiative (LHI) of 2 MVAS (flashing speed indicator signs) and 40mph buffer zones at the village entrances of Fowlmere, Shepreth and Barrington Road are having the infrastructure installed week starting 8th May. The MVAS units will be added as soon as possible after that.
Lets hope that this helps to educate all drivers to slow down in Foxton!
