Becoming a parish councillor is an exciting opportunity. You can make a positive and impactful contribution to your community, represent the interests of residents (in areas including planning, safety, village infrastructure and recreation), participate in guiding the future development of Foxton and improve the quality of village life. At the same time you get to meet new people and engage with village residents. If you would like to hear more about this role or speak to a current councillor, please contact the parish clerk by email clerk@foxtonparishcouncil.gov.uk or phone 01763 838430
Active with AwPC - Parkinson's Cambs
Parkinson’s Disease is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and its symptoms can include tremor, rigidity, stiffness and slowness of movement, poor balance and co-ordination. Unfortunately there is no known cure (yet) but exercise can really help address the symptoms and is as important as taking any prescribed medication.
Specialised exercise classes are held in Sawston on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Tuesday and Wednesday classes are based on the Parkinson’s Warrior regime and Friday is Nordic Walking for People with Parkinson’s (or Smoveys as an indoor alternative).
All classes are fun, enjoyable and motivational, led by our award winning instructor Paul Goddard who has many years’ experience as a neurological disease exercise instructor. If you or anyone you know has Parkinson’s Disease and would be interested in attending please contact Deb Liddington on 0774 332 4288 or email debliddington@btinternet.com for further information.
