Local Highways Initiative Consultation - deadline 9 September 2022
Foxton Parish Council’s successful Local Highway Initiative bid, after 3 years of trying for funds from Cambs County Council, has resulted in the highways engineers recommending the various traffic calming measures set out in the diagrams below.
Shepreth, Fowlmere and Barrington roads will have 40pmh zones which should encourage traffic to slow down on the approaches to Foxton before reaching the 30mph zones. In addition the white roundels with 30mph on the roads will be re-painted and ‘dragons teeth’ white markings added. We will also be getting 2 solar powered Mobile Vehicle Activated Signs – one on Fowlmere Road and one on Barrington Road. The plans show WBP (wide based posts) which can locate these units. All of this should help to slow traffic down to the regulation 30mph speed through the village.
Please make any comments on this by 9th September 2022 to clerk@foxtonparishcouncil.gov.uk.
